Higher Auto Insurance Rates?

Based on a recent California Supreme Court refusal to hear a case, higher rates may be coming. The Auto Club charges fees to insureds for paying in installments. There is a debate over whether these fees are premium or added fees.

The moral of the story: when you are going to pay your insurance in payments, ask about any fees. Not all carriers charge these fees.

One way to keep insurance rates low is to keep points off your record by attending traffic school. I was facing a steep increase in my rates and didn't think I'd be able to attend traffic school due to my rigorous work schedule. I discovered that California allows you to take traffic school online. I found a great course: http://www.BESTtrafficschool.com This course was so convenient. I ha 24 hour access and could actually do it at work while multi-tasking.

On the other hand, those companies that charge a fee essentially have a better rate for people that pay in full. Companies that do not charge an installment fee pass on the additional expenses incurred to service the monthly payments to all policyholders.
